Flater earns two more preseason honors
UNI redshirt senior Bryce Flater received two more preseason honors recently as a second-team defense selection to the Phil Steele MVFC Preseason Second Team and a third-team defense pick on the HERO Sports Preseason All-American Team.
The Panthers are ranked 21st in the American Football Coaches Association’s FCS Coaches Poll released on Monday. The Panthers begin the season at Air Force on Saturday, Sept. 3.
“Flater’s just a solid, good linebacker,” said UNI head coach Mark Farley during a press conference last week, likening Flater to his all-MVFC teammate Spencer Cuvelier: “He plays like an old-school linebacker.”
