Former Spartan, Frisch, to play at Upper Iowa

FAYETTE — Former Grundy Center High School volleyball standout Sarah Frisch has announced her intentions to continue her collegiate volleyball career.
Last week Upper Iowa University announced that Frisch, who is currently a sophomore at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), will be transferring to the university and playing for the Peacocks next season.
"We are excited that Sarah has chosen to stay close to home to finish out her college career with Upper Iowa,” UIU Coach Aaron Nelson said. "We are looking for her to come in and provide some depth at the net, as well as the middle and right side positions.  She has consistently demonstrated the ability to be an efficient attacker and productive blocker throughout her career.  Sarah has had plenty of big match experience and we are hoping she will have to draw from those experiences as we play more of those types of matches here at UIU in the near future.”
Frisch made her mark In a single season of volleyball at DMACC after playing basketball as a freshman, earning All-Region XI first-team and all-tournament honors as well as first-team All-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference honors. She averaged 1.67 kills per set while hitting with a .312 efficiency. She also ranked 13th nationally with 1.3 blocks per set.
Frisch, the daughter of Tim and Becky Frisch, will seek a degree in biology.
