Frisch earns all-conference honors at DMACC

DES MOINES — Former Grundy Center High School standout Sarah Frisch has earned a pair of postseason honors following a successful sophomore season at Des Moines Area Community College.
Frisch, a 2012 GCHS grad, garnered National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI-A All-Tournament Team honors and was named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference all-conference first team.
The middle hitter finished the season with 281 kills, 28 ace serves, 106 digs and a team-high 219 blocks, including 177 block assists. She hit .312 with her 281 kills coming from 673 attacks and 71 hitting errors.
Frisch also plans to play basketball for DMACC this winter.
DMACC ended the season with an eighth-place finish in the NJCAA Division II National Championship after entering the tournament with a No. 11 seed and a No. 14 national ranking. The Bears compiled a 34-13 overall record and were ICCAC co-champions with a 9-1 mark.
