G-R dissolution could result in Grundy Center school merger
GRUNDY CENTER — A dissolution of the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School District could result in a partial merger of the district with Grundy Center.
Last Wednesday the Grundy Center Community School District Board of Directors reviewed a letter outlining the petition for the dissolution of Gladbrook-Reinbeck as well as the response to the letter from Superintendent Jerry Schutz.
The letter, which is only the beginning of a process that would end up in the hands of voters in the G-R Community School District before becoming reality, calls for the northern portion of the district to be merged with the Grundy Center Community School District. That portion consists of the former Reinbeck Community School District. Under the proposed plan, the southern portion of the district, the former Gladbrook Community School District, would be combined with GMG.
