GC-GR girls fourth, boys fifth at Spartan Invite

GRUNDY CENTER – The GC/GR girls ran to a fourth place team finish and the boys went fifth at the 17th running of the Spartan Invitational at Town & Country Golf Course Thursday. Denver won the girls’ team title and East Marshall claimed the boys’ title.
Mellina Wrage and Lily Ehlers both earned top 10 finishes for the Spartan girls, going ninth and 10th individually. Cora Saak medaled with her 18th place finish, and Tiana Saak went 26th. Jori Steenhoek completed the Spartan girls’ team score with a 44th place showing.
Finn Cleveland and Dylan Hendricks led the Spartan boys with a pair of top 10 finishes, Cleveland going fifth and Hendricks seventh. Max Schweppe placed 33rd, and Joe Kanagy and Alex Schweppe went 48th and 49th.
