GC Jazz earns top ratings

GC Jazz participated in the IHSMA State Vocal Jazz contest in Jefferson on Feb. 7.
The group competed in the 2A classification and earned a Division 1 rating from all three judges. It’s the first time GC Jazz has ever competed in the category, and is the first Division 1 in any Vocal Music category in recent years.
Members included:
Seniors - Jessica Saak
Juniors - Juliana Corbett, Kilynn Hitchings, Cadance Schroer
Sophomores - Blessing Edittu, Tate Jirovsky, Tanner Laube, Lilly Lewis, Clay Saak
Freshmen - Aiden Del Castillo, Tallula Lamp
The group performed “Blue Moon”, arr. Roger Emerson; “Dream a Little Dream of Me”, arr. Althouse; and “It Had to Be You”, arr. Robinson.
