A rural Grundy Center man who has been convicted of Domestic Abuse Assault on three prior occasions in Tama and Grundy Counties has been charged yet again after an argument that allegedly turned physical on July 30.

According to a police report, a 911 caller reported the Kamakani Travis Clark, age 44, pushed the alleged victim to the ground at his home, left the scene and headed toward Grundy Center. Upon speaking with Grundy County Deputy BJ Jorgenson, Clark admitted that he and the victim had been in a dispute and that he had pushed the victim.

Clark, the report alleges, struck the victim on the side of the head and behind the right shoulder, and two witnesses who were in the proximity corroborated the story. In this instance, Clark will face Class D felony charges, and a no-contact order has been issued between himself and the alleged victim.

The defendant made an initial court appearance through public defender James Metcalf on August 3 and posted bond on July 31. An official trial date has not yet been set.
