Geer retires from judicial position, returns to home firm

GRUNDY CENTER -  After retiring from a 20-year-long career as a judge for the First Judicial District of Iowa, lifelong Grundy Center resident Todd Geer has been welcomed back to the law firm of Heronimus, Schmidt, Allen, and Schroeder, where he has been made partner, as well as assistant Grundy County attorney.
Geer, who graduated from Grundy Center High School and completed his J.D. at the University of Iowa Law School, lawyered at the firm before, back in 1984 when it was Kliebenstein, Heronimus, and Schmidt. Geer was made partner at the firm, but left when he was appointed a judicial position in 1995.
After 20 years as a judge, Geer decided to retire. At the same time, he said, there was a need for another lawyer in the firm, and so he was able to return to his original law firm.
