Glabrook-Reinbeck football swamps Spartans

COLO – Gladbrook-Reinbeck football ran over Collins-Maxwell for a 68-14 win in the regular-season finale in Colo on Friday.

The Rebels (7-1), rated fifth in 8-player by Radio Iowa, will take on New London in a first-round playoff game in Gladbrook on Friday.

G-R jumped out to a 30-6 lead after the first quarter and was up 44-6 at halftime.

Hudson Clark rushed eight times for 92 yards and four touchdowns. Isaac Clark was a perfect 9-for-9 passing for 267 yards and four touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown. Drew Eilers, Austin Vaverka, Luke Riffey and Aiden Hunemuller all hauled in one touchdown pass each.

Vaverka was the team’s top tackler on Friday with 6.5 total tackles, including three for a loss.

G-R outgained Collins-Maxwell in total offensive yards, 509-141.

Collins-Maxwell played their home games in Colo this season while construction is underway on the school’s athletic fields.
