Gladbrook-Reinbeck football cruises again

GLADBROOK – Gladbrook-Reinbeck football continued its tear through the eight-man ranks with a 72-6 drubbing of Meskwaki Settlement for the Rebels’ homecoming on Friday.

The Rebels (6-0, 4-0 8-Man District 4) welcome Don Bosco (4-2, 4-0) for the final home game of the season in Gladbrook on Friday, with the winner being crowned District 4 champion.

G-R led 34-0 after the first quarter, which included three touchdown catches for Ethan Gienger. Gienger added a touchdown catch in the second quarter to finish with four catches total for four touchdowns and 47 total yards. Luke Riffey added three grabs for 48 yards and a score.

Isaac Clark completed 6-of-7 passes for 85 yards and three scores; Drew Eilers added three completions on seven attempts for 32 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, G-R held Meskwaki to 21 yards of net offense in the first half. Tristen Sanford-Anders had 3.5 total tackles, including 2.5 for a loss. Gienger and Clark each added interceptions and Riffey had a fumble recovery.
