Glen ‘Dean’ Sandstoe

A celebration of life service for Glen “Dean” Sandstoe, 87, of Des Moines will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, in Van Meter Township located west of Des Moines. 

Dean was born March 3, 1937 in Beaman, son of Ingwald and Opal Sandstoe. Dean was a Navy veteran serving on the aircraft carrier USS Hornet. Following military service, Dean earned a Business Management degree. He joined the staff of Des Moines Child and Adolescent Guidance Center as an Administrative Manager, a position held for many years. 

Dean is survived by a brother, Gerald and nieces and nephews.
