The Grundy Center Community School Foundation recently provided funds for a classroom set of dry-erase boards, markers and erasers for the Grundy Center Elementary Music Classroom.

The dry-erase boards are specifically crafted with five line staffs that allow budding Grundy Center musicians to use with music activities like melodic composition and notation and demonstrating an understanding of the music notation and practicing skills for original composition.

Recently, fourth graders notated the four pitches on the treble clef staff that they learned to play on recorders. The dry-erase boards allowed students to share ideas, demonstrate their notation and composition ideas and making the most of the music class.

Mrs. Geselle Steenhoek and the Grundy Center Elementary music students expressed their gratitude to the Grundy Center Community School Foundation for their contributions to the program.
