Grundy Center boys 4x800 leads area at Dickinson Relays

CEDAR FALLS - Grundy Center's second-place finish in the 4x800 relay was the top finish among the area performances at the Boys Dickinson Relays at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls on Tuesday, March 8.

Brennen Sager, Ethan Sadler, Kaden Lynch and Soren Cleveland took the silver medal in 8:35.57. Western Dubuque won the event in 8:21.67.

Sadler added a 17th-place finish in the 800; Lynch and Cleveland were 30th and 32nd, respectively, in the 1,600.

A couple of freshmen also made a splash - Brayden Wallis was 39th out of nearly 200 runners in the 400 and Tiernan Vokes placed 59th out of 130 jumpers in the long jump.

BCLUW's Connor Lynch and Cayden White finished 30th and 36th in the 800; Lynch, Lane Hartwig, Nick Pieper and Henry Kaisand teamed up to finish 18th in the 4x800.

G-R's Logan Giesking placed 22nd in the high jump after clearing 5 feet, 10 inches.
