Grundy Center group sets plan to build senior living development

GRUNDY CENTER — A planned housing development could open a new type of living to Grundy Center.
Creekside, Inc. Monday announced plans to develop a 25-acre tract of land on Grundy Center’s far east side into a multi-unit retirement community.
John Schuller, president of the non-profit Creekside, Inc., said the development fills a need that has been identified by several different sources.
“Western Home, which we expect to be one of our partners with this, has done two studies for Grundy Center that have identified that need and in Grundy Center we have the 2020 Vision Plan that identified that need,” he said. “Part of the 2020 plan going forward is to establish this type of housing. Based upon those studies as well as conversation with the community, we feel this is a tremendous opportunity to fill that need.”
