Grundy Center named Iowa’s safest community

    GRUNDY CENTER — For the second time in less than a year, Grundy Center has been named among the safest cities in the state of Iowa. And this time it came in at No. 1.
    The Web site onlyinyourstate.com ranked the top 10 safest cities in Iowa based on the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports. Ties were broken based on the size of community.
    Of Grundy Center the site notes, “Grundy Center, in Grundy County, is probably the safest place to live in all of Iowa. With a population of 2,706 people, there were no violent crimes, no murders, no rapes, no aggravated assaults, no burglaries, and no arson in 2013, the most recent year of the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports.”
