MAYNE’S GROVE – The Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR cross country teams ran their first meet of the season at their own invitational, where the girls’ team repeated their second place showing of last season, and the boys placed sixth out of 16 scoring teams. Humboldt took the girls’ title and Clear Lake claimed the boys’ title.
“I am very pleased with how each and every runner performed tonight,” IF-A/AGWSR girls’ coach Jamie Maxwell said. “We had two weeks of official practice under our belt and this gave us a good idea of where we are at and what we can expect.”
Bethany Lippert and Aubrie Fisher led the Cadets with first and second place finishes individually, Lippert with a 5k time of 20:58.88 and Fisher coming in at 21:20.10. Patience Kauzlarich and Katie Meyer went 20th and 21st. Tessa Van Buskirk finished 28th and McKenzie Barr went 32nd.
