IF-A/AGWSR's Ollivierre wins at Maynes Grove

HAMPTON – Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR freshman Nakia Ollivierre made an immediate impact in her first varsity race, winning the girls’ individual medal in 19:33 and pacing the Cadets to a second-place team finish on Thursday, Aug. 25.

Ollivierre finished nearly 20 seconds ahead of Clear Lake’s Addison Doughan, a fourth-place finisher at state cross country last season and ranked second in the preseason Class 3A girls rankings from the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

The Cadets scored 48 points to finish behind Clear Lake (33 points) in the team standings. They also got top-10 finishes from Teah Miller, 3rd in 20:58; Abby Harding, 6th in 21:53; and fellow freshman Demi Beaubien, 8th in 22:07. Elizabeth Kielty was the final scorer in 30th in 24:59.

In the boys’ race, IF-A/AGWSR was eighth with 241 points, led by Jase Beaubien in ninth in a time of 18:39. Clear Lake won the boys team title with 41 points.
