Jansen Optical welcomes optometrist to team

GRUNDY CENTER – Recently, Jansen Optical welcomed Dr. Lucas Cook, O.D., of Cedar Valley Eye Care to the team.
Since mid-April, Cook has been working out of the Jansen Optical office once a week. Cook, who also works out of the Cedar Valley Eye Care offices in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, is now taking patients in Grundy Center on Tuesday mornings.
Cook is a graduate of UNI and Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been working with Cedar Valley Eye Care for the past two years.
At the Jansen Optical office, Cook will offer patients full primary eye care for patients of all ages - infant through the elderly - as well as glasses, medical eye exams, and contact prescriptions. He also deals a lot with diabetes eye exams, cataracts, macular degeneration and glaucoma.
Cook said that if Tuesday mornings get too busy, then he may add another half day in Grundy Center to his schedule.
So far, he said he has really enjoyed the hometown feel of Grundy, and the personal care he gets to offer patients here.
