Joyce Hoffman

Joyce Arlene Hoffman passed away July 22, 2023 in Cape Coral Florida. She was 82 years old.

Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on at 11AM, Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Memorials can be made to the Grundy Hospital Auxiliary.

Joyce was born on April 6, 1941 in Perry Iowa and graduated from Ogden High School. She was married to Gerald Hoffman on August 2, 1959. Gerald and Joyce had 4 children – Brenda, Brian, David & Chris.

They made their homes in Lanyon, Ottosen and Grundy Center Iowa. Joyce was a homemaker until her kids graduated from high school. She worked at the Spokesman Press as a proof-reader and at Community Title in Grundy Center. After she retired, Joyce enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her kids and grandchildren. In October of 2018 she moved to North Fort Myers Florida to be close to her daughter Chris. She made many new friends and loved the warm weather.

Joyce is survived by her daughters Brenda & husband Tom Heinz and Chris & husband Darrel Abels, a brother Royce Rinehart, brother-in-law Keith Hoffman and sister-in-law Elaine Shelton. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald and sons Brian & David.
