Karen Lynn Thompson

Karen Lynn Thompson, 75, of Grundy Center, passed away on February 18, 2021 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Funeral services will be held privately by the family, however, there will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Burial will be held privately at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Karen was born on February 8, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. She was the loving daughter of Keith and Hazel (Holtslander) Gregory. Karen graduated from Grinnell High School in the class of 1964. She was married to Earl Purvis and they welcomed five daughters into their family. The couple later divorced. She then was united in marriage to Randy Thompson on May 23, 1992. They expanded their family with the addition of their son Kantin Ash. Karen was a homemaker most of her life and cherished taking care of her family.

Karen loved camping, crafts and was an excellent seamstress. She loved animals especially pugs. Karen’s true joy in life was her family. She was a very loving and caring mother and a wonderful grandmother.

Karen is survived by her husband Randy; daughters Michele (Charles) Limberis, Lisa (Douglas) Bergman, Julie Purvis (Bryce Hutcheson), Tamara Purvis, Jacquelyn Purvis, son Kantin Ash, and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Devon Erickson.
