Keith Hall
Keith Hall, 85, formerly of Grundy Center, passed away on June 8, 2024 at the Ramsey Village Continuing Care in Des Moines.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 14, from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Grundy Center Cornerstone Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery Grundy Center.
Keith was born to Joseph and Amy Hall, He grew up on a farm in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He developed an interest in athletics and played both football and baseball in high school.
He graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1957, Emmetsburg Junior College in 1959 and the University of Northern Iowa in 1961. He graduated with a master’s in economics and government.
On Dec. 22, 1963, Keith was united in marriage to his wife, Patricia Willis. They had four children, Wendy Hall, Cindy (Rick) Slinger, Jeff Hall, and Stacey (Dave) Stonebraker.
Keith was a longtime resident of Grundy Center and teacher at Grundy Center High School until he retired. He coached a variety of sports throughout his teaching career and umpired and refereed many games. Keith was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Grundy Center, where he was Worshipful Master for nine years. He was active in the Iowa Autism Society and served as president. Keith enjoyed traveling all over the United States and visited many National Parks.
Keith is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia; daughters, Wendy Hall and Cindy Slinger; son, Jeff Hall, grandsons Ryan Slinger, Kyle Slinger, Tyler Slinger, Joseph Hall, Zachary Hall, Joel Hall, Wyatt Stonebraker and four great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacey, and his parents.
