Library a hub for summer activities
GRUNDY CENTER —With school out for the summer, the Kling Memorial Library in Grundy Center becomes a hub for activities.
Library Director Molly Mauer said more than 390 people have signed up for the library’s summer reading program so far and that she has hopes of reaching about 425 people, which is typical for the program.
“For a town of 2,700 people I think that’s kind of impressive,” Mauer said. “Having over 10 percent (of the population) come in and support literacy in the community is really cool.”
Mauer said she is really excited about a book club program this summer fourth- through sixth-graders that began last year and has expanded to first- through third-graders this year.
