A love story 68 years in the making

GRUNDY CENTER — It all started on the ferris wheel nearly seven decades ago.
    That’s where Delbert Meyer met the love of his life … the person who has been a part of him for the past 68 years. And it was love at first sight.
    “She was standing there and I thought she was a pretty nice girl,” he said. “I asked her if she would like a ride, she said yes, and we dated ever since.”
     Delbert said he knew Ann was “the one” from the moment he laid eyes on her. They married a couple of years later. Though both grew up in Grundy County, they did not know each other prior to that day.
    “I took her home that night,” he said. “I asked her if I could come back again and she said yes.
