Marcia was born on April 24, 1943, to Elmer and Marlys (Claassen) Dieken. She graduated from Dike High School in 1961 and married Gary Andersen on Feb. 10, 1962, at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in rural Holland. Marcia and Gary made their home in Dike, where they lived until 2009. After Gary’s passing that year, Marcia moved to Waterloo and later to Cedar Falls.

She served on the Fredsville Church Council and was a board member of Christian Crusade. She enjoyed attending Bible studies, as well as participating in several bridge groups.

Marcia had a love for reading, sports and attending musical events, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She cherished her children, her grandson Zach and his wife, Heather, and her great-grandchildren, Blakelee and Noah.
