Monday's basketball: Grundy Center girls dominate Tigers

ELDORA – Grundy Center girls basketball rolled to a 54-9 victory over South Hardin in NICL West action on Monday, Jan. 6 at South Hardin High School.

The Spartans (7-1, 5-0 NICL West) allowed no more than five points in a single quarter to the Tigers, leading South Hardin 32-6 at halftime and stretching out to a 48-6 margin by the end of three quarters.

Paiton Wallis scored 22 points and had six of the Spartans' 11 3-pointers in the game.

GRUNDY CENTER BOYS FALL TO SOUTH HARDIN: South Hardin completed the regular-season sweep with a 61-51 win over Grundy Center in Eldora on Monday.

South Hardin ended the game on an 11-2 run.

The Tigers defeated Grundy Center 46-44 on Dec. 6. The Spartans fell to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the NICL West. Zach Opheim scored 12 points to lead the Spartans, Nick Ascher added 10 points.
