One dead after Highway 20 accident
A 51-year-old Evansdale man suffered fatal injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 20 in Grundy County on Saturday evening.
According to a sheriff’s office press release, Scott VanGorder was westbound in a 2000 Saturn between The Mill and the Wellsburg turnoff about 2 ½ miles west of Highway 14 when the he drove off the right hand shoulder of the road, entered the ditch and struck a fence and a tree. VanGorder was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wellsburg Fire and Ambulance and the Holland Fire Department assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
