A-P/GC's Storjohann wins in Tama

TAMA – Lia Hovenga won her 108-113-pound round robin bracket as one of two winners for Aplington-Parkersburg/Grundy Center girls wrestling at the season-opening South Tama tournament last Thursday, Nov. 17.

Hovenga won all three of her matches by fall, as did Grace Storjohann in the 121-124 bracket.

Ella Luebbers was 2nd in the 136-139 bracket with a 2-1 performance and Ali Burkhalter finished 1-2 in the 123-126 bracket.

Trinity Rotgers led AGWSR in second place in the 147-155 pound round robin, going 2-1 on the day. Aspen McStochard added a third-place finish with a 1-2 performance.

South Hardin-BCLUW’s Alaynah Salazar was second in the 160-168 bracket with two pinfall victories and Kailan McEwen was second in the 185-193 bracket with a 1-1 performance.
