Practice burn creates spectacular scene

Firefighters from three local communities did not attempt to extinguish a house fire on G Avenue in Grundy Center last Wednesday. That was not the point. Instead they protected adjacent structures and allowed the structure located adjacent to Rouse Motors burn all the way to the ground. The home was burned as both a drill and to make space for expansion at Grundy Center’s lone new car dealer. Firefighters from Holland and Reinbeck joined those from Grundy Center in the drill.
