Rebels clobber Grand View, stay undefeated
Class A second-ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck scored at will in the first half of a 63-7 beat down of Grand View Christian in a district 5 contest Friday night in Gladbrook.
The Rebels (6-0, 4-0) got started early when senior Parker Bown busted a 54-yard touchdown run on their first offensive play from scrimmage to go ahead 7-0 with seven and a half minutes remaining in the opening frame.
The Thunder (0-6) moved the ball down the field on the ensuing drive, mostly thanks to a long pass that was tipped into the hands of Parker Owens, but they stalled at the Rebel 25-yard line. After a turnover on downs, quarterback Hunter Lott proceeded to break a 66-yard run on the next play, and G-R led 14-0.
