Rebels take runner-up spot in own tourney

REINBECK – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck volleyball team made a strong showing at their own tournament Saturday, winning three consecutive matches before falling to BCLUW in the final match of the day. The Rebels took second place overall while the Comets were crowned tournament champions.  
G-R started the day strong with a 21-3, 21-15 win over GMG. The Rebels followed that with a 21-17, 21-8 win over North Butler. AGWSR would challenge the Rebels in match three, pushing it to three sets before G-R prevailed 21-16, 13-21, 15-10.
The final match against BCLUW started with a closely played set that the Comets would claim 22-20. The Rebels fell in the second set 11-21 to give BCLUW the match and the tournament title.
