Rebels top AGWSR, suffer first loss to West Marshall

ACKLEY – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys’ basketball team went 1-1 in couple of closely played NICL-West games this past week, picking up a win on the road against AGWSR 48-42 on Tuesday, and suffering their first loss of the season to West Marshall, 63-60 at home on Friday.
The Rebels (4-1 overall, 4-1 NICL-West) will host Denver on Friday, Jan. 3, and Don Bosco of Gilbertville on Saturday, Jan. 4.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck 48, AGWSR 42
In a hard fought defensive battle, Gladbrook-Reinbeck prevailed over AGWSR by a margin of six points with the help of some key forced turnovers down the stretch. Rebel head coach Scott Kiburis credited the AGWSR defense in keeping the game close.
