Ronald Gene Risting
WATERLOO — Roland Gene Risting (Ron), 89, passed away Nov. 19, 2024, in Waterloo.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Born on June 12, 1935, Ron leaves behind a legacy marked by devotion to his family and a distinguished career.
He graduated top of his class from Whitten High School and soon after embarked on a career that would define his professional life. He was the founding owner of Waterloo Construction, renowned for his leadership and strong work ethic, which earned him great respect in the construction industry.
In retirement, Ron and his wife Linda enjoyed extensive travels, visiting all 50 states. They later spent 26 cherished winters in Florida. Ron was an esteemed craftsman, known for his diverse woodworking skills and was a passionate, accomplished golfer.
Surviving Ron are his wife, Linda Risting; children, Steve Risting (Carol), Shary Stadler (Marc), Lori Risting-Clark (Ken), Brad Blough (Dena), and Adam Blough; grandchildren, Corey Knuppel (Jessica), Jonathan Risting, Jennifer Risting (Chris Lesh), Elizabeth Longcor (Mitch), Cole Clark (Hannah), Connor Blough, and Addison Blough; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Collins and Raegan Knuppel, Luke and William Henry Lesh; and sister, Helen Baker (Merv).
Ron was preceded in death by brother, Don Risting; and granddaughter, Jordyn Clark.
Ron's life was one of active engagement, marked by a passion for creation and a love for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
