Shelby Lynn Beninga

STOUT — Shelby Lynn Beninga, 32, of Kansas City, Kansas, formerly of Stout, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at her parent's home in Stout. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Dike Chapel in Dike. Inurnment will be held privately by the family at the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike.

Shelby was born on June 29, 1991, in Waterloo to her parents Byron and Patty (Deerfield) Beninga. She was raised in Stout and graduated from Dike-New Hartford High School in the Class of 2010. She then attended Hawkeye Community College. On Dec. 24, 2014, Shelby welcomed her daughter Loni into their family. Shelby later moved to Kansas City, Kansas and lived there with her boyfriend until his passing on April 3, 2024. Shelby then moved back to Stout to be close to her family.

Shelby is survived by her daughter, Loni Beninga; her parents Byron and Patty; grandpa Pat Deerfield; brothers Cody and Sloan (Jenna) Beninga; and nephew Winston Beninga. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Benard and Betty Beninga and Evelyn Deerfield.
