Spartan volleyball wins, Kracht reaches assist milestone

GRUNDY CENTER – Emerson Kracht collected her 1,500th assist for her high school career in Grundy Center's straight-set victory against Ogden on Monday, Oct. 28 in a Class 2A Region 4 quarterfinal.

Grundy Center won 25-10, 25-3, 25-14 to improve to 13-8 on the season. The 2A #6 Spartans will play Woodward-Granger at a site to be determined on Thursday, Oct. 31 in a regional semifinal.

Kracht had nine kills and 10 assists in the match. Abby Hamann added eight kills and 10 digs. Lainy Thoren had six kills. Jacque Kuester distributed a team-high 16 assists. Kyah Luhring finished with four kills and eight digs.

Grundy Center dropped in 17 total ace serves. Frannie Brown had six aces on 21-of-21 serving, Luhring was 13-13 with five aces, Kracht 17-17 with four aces and Abby Hamann had two aces.
