State of the City — Buhrow reflects on first year as mayor

GRUNDY CENTER — Brian Buhrow has seen a lot of change in his first year as Grundy Center’s mayor. As he enters the second year of his first term, he is already looking to the future for Grundy County’s largest community and county seat.
“It was a very busy year,” he said. “One of the things I learned is that the city is going in every different direction. I have a great appreciation for it.”
Buhrow said the biggest thing he saw in his first year is that the time commitment to the mayoral position is greater than he had expected.
“There are the council meetings, but then there are additional meetings once or twice per week,” he said. “It’s very important to stay involved.”
