Supervisors to continue Secondary Road wage discussion
GRUNDY CENTER – The Grundy County Board of Supervisors will have an agenda item next week to continue discussions regarding wages for Secondary Road employees, decided as part of regular business at Monday’s regular meeting at the Grundy County Courthouse.
County Engineer Gary Mauer and the supervisors discussed the wage matter, which has been under the spotlight since last year when Secondary Road employees came to the board requesting that a four-percent wage increase negotiated between the county and the PPME Local 2003 Union be revisited after raises were approved for elected officials.
No action was taken, per instruction from the Board of Supervisors. A possible decision may be reached on this matter at next week’s meeting.
The supervisors also denied a request from the Felix Grundy Festival Board of Directors for the use of courthouse and courthouse grounds for this summer’s Felix Grundy Festival. District 5 Supervisor Barbara L. Smith has volunteered to work with the Felix Grundy board to discuss further plans to help facilitate the festival traditionally held in July.
