Toni Friday
Toni Dail Friday, 70, passed away June 25, 2023 at Kavanaugh House, Des Moines, Iowa, after her second bout with breast cancer. Toni was born April 22, 1953 to Jerry and Betty (Andrews) Friday of Conrad, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State University in Ames in 1975 and later earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from Drake University in Des Moines. She spent her entire working career at Deluxe Corp. She married Wayne Simmer on May 22, 1998. Prior to Wayne’s death in 2015, they split their time between Des Moines and Fort Myers, Florida.
In addition to Wayne, Toni was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother, Betty, of Conrad; brother, Tim Friday, of Union, Iowa; Wayne’s children and grandchildren; son-in-law Brad Cronin of Clive, and many beloved friends.
Cremation rites have been accorded and, per Toni’s wishes, there will be no services.
Memorials are suggested to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or to the Iowa State University Athletic Foundation, to the Wayne Simmer memorial scholarship.
