Union damages D-NH hopes of defending title

    DIKE — The Dike-New Hartford boys’ basketball team’s hope of defending its North Iowa Cedar League East Division title took a serious hit Friday, as the Wolverines could not overcome bad breaks in a 54-47 loss to Union Community.
    The Wolverines (8-4 overall, 7-2 NICL East) led only briefly and trailed by as many as eight points in the second half before rallying. They also defeated Columbus Catholic last week, 56-32.
    D-NH traveled to Jesup Tuesday and hosts Sumner-Fredericksburg Friday.
