UNI's Flater honored on all-sophomore team

Bryce Flater, a Grundy Center alum now in his redshirt sophomore year with the University of Northern Iowa football team, received first-team defense recognition on an FCS Sophomore All-American Team compiled by HERO Sports.

Flater ended his sophomore season with a new career-high 22 tackles in the Panthers' 17-0 loss to James Madison in the FCS national quarterfinals. Flater led the Panthers in tackles with 143 total stops, including 74 solo tackles. He had eight stops for a loss, one interception, four pass break-ups, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.

UNI teammate Isaiah Weston was chosen at first-team offense.
