Wolverine girls return to state meet

PELLA — One year ago the Dike-New Hartford cross country program failed to qualify at least one team for the state meet for the first time in five years. It did not take the Wolverines nearly as long to start a new streak.
The Wolverine girls earned their second state meet berth in three years last Thursday with a strong run to third place in a Class 2A state qualifying meet at Central College in Pella. The unranked Wolverines finished behind only sixth-ranked South Hardin and 11th-ranked Des Moines Christian, finishing with 95 points to out-pace fourth-place East Marshall by 38 points.
