Wolverines clinch NICL East title, win Cedar Rapids tourney

DIKE — Dike-New Hartford wrapped up its third consecutive North Iowa Cedar League East Division volleyball championship last week while also taking the championship in the largely-Class 4A and 5A Cedar Rapids West Side Invitational.
The Wolverines (33-1 overall, 6-0 in the NICL East) extended their division winning streak to 23 matches with a straight sets victory over Denver last Tuesday. D-NH’s last league loss came to Wapsie Valley in 2010.
Set scores against Denver were 25-6, 25-16 and 25-9. Briana Weber paced the Wolverines with 13 kills in the match while Brooke Morgan had nine and both Lizzy Blough and Sadie Eden recorded seven. Rachel Koop had 32 assists, Blough eight digs, Morgan six blocks and Taylor Hedges a pair of service aces.
