Wolverines dominate in opener

GILBERTVILLE — The Dike-New Hartford girls' basketball team opened its 2013-14 season last Tuesday with a runaway victory over Don Bosco.
The Wolverines, ranked No. 9 in Class 2A, jumped ahead 25-7 after one quarter before outscoring the Dons 19-0 in the second stanza to take a 44-7 halftime lead.
Eleven different Wolverines scored in the game, led by senior Ashley Dumler with 17 points and junior Briana Weber with 11. D-NH had 21 steals in the game, led by Blough with five and both Brooke Morgan and Katelyn VanWechel with three each.
