Wolverines rally to win own invitational
DIKE — Dike-New Hartford rallied in the final event of the night to win its own Wolverine Invitational last Tuesday.
The Wolverines trailed Wapsie Valley 96-93 entering the 4 x 400-meter relay, needing to finish at least two spots ahead of the Warriors to take the title. D-NH did everything it could do, winning one the event by more than 2 ½ seconds while Wapsie came in sixth.
D-NH finished with 103 points in the meet while WV came home with 99. Hudson (91), West Marshall (65) and South Tama County (60) rounded out the top five. Gladbrook-Reinbeck was sixth in the invitational while Grundy Center finished in a 10th-place tie.
