Work continues on downtown facade project

 
GRUNDY CENTER - With Felix Grundy Days fast approaching, the crew at Cardinal Construction have been working hard to put the finishing touches on the facade renovation project in downtown Grundy Center.
 
On Tuesday afternoon, workers used a crane to place a new cap on the turret atop the Spartan Fitness building at 629 G Ave.
 
A crowd of onlookers, including Spartan Fitness owner Jenny Meyers, gathered to watch the progress.
 
“I think it’ll be really neat to see it all complete,” Meyers said. “It will be fun to compare it to old photos of the original turret and see how it looks.”
