Grundy Center schools welcome new staff members

As the Grundy Center Community School District opens its 2013- 14 school year this week, several new faces will meet the students.  Among those are five new teachers as well as a pair of new faces in the administration office.

New teaching faculty began work last week and met students for the first time during Monday’s open houses.

Stephanie Hasken

Stephanie Hasken is a Middle School and High School physical education and health teacher. The 21-year-old is from Davenport and a Central College graduate. She was active in athletics at Central, playing goalkeeper for the Dutch women’s soccer team throughout her collegiate career and center on the basketball team her freshman and sophomore years. She was also a student strength and conditioning coach, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, wrote the newsletter for the strength and conditioning department and was a certified Zumba instructor. Away from school, Hasken said she enjoys spending time with family, going to church, bonfires, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.
