Rebels wrap up season with victory GMG
GARWIN – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels moved to 7-2 overall and 6-0 in Class A District 4 to earn sole possession of the district championship with their 48-9 win over GMG last Friday night. Chase Clark led the Rebels to victory with 198 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
“We were excited to finish this season with a District title,” Gladbrook-Reinbeck head coach John Olson said. “Our offense line did a tremendous job of opening holes for all our backs. I was very happy with our effort, execution, and overall play.”
The efforts of the Rebel O-line helped them jump out to an early 21-0 lead in the first quarter on two short touchdown runs by Clark and a third by Cam Kickbush.
GMG got on the board in the second period with an Austin Vaughn field goal. Kickbush found Colton Dinsdale for a 26-yard touchdown pass, and Clark ran the ball 10 yards for his third touchdown of the night to bring the score to 25-3 in favor or the Rebels at the half.
