Ubben, Petersen take MVC honors

Former AGWSR standout Macy Ubben, a senior at the University of Northern Iowa, has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's (MVC's) Defensive Player of the Year. Ubben earned first-team All-MVC for the second time in her career. She finished the regular season eighth in the MVC in points per set with 3.50. She led the Panthers in kills with 2.97 per set and was second on the team in digs with 3.37 per set. Ubben was also named MVC Scholar-Athlete first team this season for the second time in her career.
In addition, Panther Coach Bobbi Petersen, a Dike native, was named MVC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in her sterling career. Petersen led a Panther squad picked for second in the conference's preseason poll, to a 23-7 overall record and a 13-3 finish in the MVC. The Panthers tied with Wichita State for a share of the MVC regular season title. This is the sixth time in Petersen’s career that one of her teams has earned a regular season championship.
