Spartan boys fall to Meskwaki, South Hardin
GRUNDY CENTER – The Grundy Center boys dropped two games in as many outings this past week, falling to Meskwaki 63-50 in a non-conference matchup on Monday, and suffering their first NICL-West loss to South Hardin, 83-50, on Tuesday.
The Spartans (3-4 overall, 3-1 NICL-West) are scheduled to host Aplington-Parkersburg on Friday, Jan. 3, followed by Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Meskwaki Settlement School 63, Grundy Center 50
Grundy Center fell to the undefeated Meskwaki Warriors by a margin of 13 on their home court Monday in fast-paced, crowd thriller of a game.
Austin Burroughs and Brady Hook led the Spartan offense with 10 points each and Jack Stumberg chipped in nine. Hook provided three assists, Jordan Stoner led in rebounds with eight, and Stoner and Bryce Moats came away with two steals each.
Allis Tahahwah led the Warriors with a game high 19 points, and Demarce Keahna, Royce Timberwolf, and Darrion Murray scored 10 apiece.
