Johnson, Irvin lead Wolverines to runner-up spot in home tournament

DIKE – Trent Johnson and Tommy Irvin wrestled 5-0 on the day to lead the Wolverines to a second place team finish in their own dual tournament on Saturday. As a team, Dike-New Hartford went 4-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of Washington, 50-28.
Nick Durnin, Connor Ragsdale, DJ Ackerson, Kyle Dennis, and Irvin all recorded falls in the Wolverines’ 66-12 victory over B-G-M.
In their 58-24 win over Saint Ansgar, Kody Kugel, Anna Poyner, Durnin, and Irvin pinned their opponents, and Trent Johnson won by major decision, 15-2.
Zach Nichol, Tanner Smith, Poyner, Ragsdale, and Irvin scored pins, and Kugel and Bryce Beninga earned major decisions in the Wolverines’ 62-18 triumph over South Winneshiek.
