Schupbach sees bright spots, has concerns during busy week for Spartans
GRUNDY CENTER — The Grundy Center girls’ golf team wrapped up a busy week last Friday with a dual victory over NICL West rival South Tama. The week also included second-place finishes in the West Marshall Invitational and the Nashua-Plainfield quadrangular.
Coach Rick Schupbach said his team is having bright spots but still isn’t playing as well as it needs to if it hopes to reach lofty goals.
“I am really proud of our young girls,” Schupbach said. “They are shooting scores lower than I anticipated and are even pushing some of our experienced players. This could make for some interesting competition for positions once we get to full strength.”
